Have you thought how illegal it might be to ping a car where the debtor has no idea its bugged? What"s the difference?Do you know that a tracker is a cell phone that is embedded in the car. If you didn"t know....open one up.

Lets assume, you"re referred to a new client. GPS are the norm. 80% work 20 % do not. You are given a username and password. Then your fax starts to blow up. You log on and PING the assigned units.....recover all of them. The checks are signed just as fast as you deliver. Its turning out to be an all right client. Friendly staff who pays quick. Also, are you telling me that you wouldn"t not do their work......Granted, all you get is a repossession assignment. Nothing else. And, you have no access to the contract. Finally, I find it hard to believe that you a repoman would actually take the time to read a retail installment contract that you have no financial interest in to verify that a GPS disclosure is actually in the agreement.

I dont know how you operate your business, but if a lender wants to sign with us we request several things from them, one of those is the contract that they use and we tell them to add the gps clause if not in there, not only they request our insurance but we also request their licensing and bond information, here in arizona there are a lot of funky dealers that open up sell cars repo them and then disappear its pretty common, and I am not going to get in any trouble, we request proper paperwork and we do decline clients, if they want to go with a company that is going to charge them 175 for involuntary with gps they can go ahead, the service that I provide is by far better than they low ballers can provide and sometimes my prices cost me clients but I am ok with that.
Or just not work for buy here pay here lots. That is the best policy to have. I know some new repossession companies need to take any repo orders they can get their hands on, but once they get established it is best to dump the BHPH"s.

There were a few companies who did this, but since the passing of Hr 4709, no company touches this stuff anymore im afraid. It sucks.. Especially considering a lot of goverment/police agency"s are able to do this stuff without warrants. Its B.S...But what can you do?? Well there are a couple of options regarding getting this sort of info still, but you are going to be walking down a road that you probably dont want to go. What you ask is possible... I dont condone any of this... This is just an answer to a question. This will get you in trouble.. You dont want any part of it1. You can use some social engineering to get the cell phone carrier to ping it for you. Some carriers in "certain circumstances" allow you to get the closest tower the cell phone hit. You arent going to get exact GPS coordinates. Some phones have GPS on them specifically for if they get lost, but often times the phone has to be in connection to another "family phone" to retrieve itIn any event you our going to have to know the Carrier, and some account info like soc/dob as well as billing address(although billing address may not be a necessary) to give to the carrier. The "certain Circumstances" is the other part of it. Using a "lost or stolen cell phone" does work sometimes but its a lot harder now to use this. Companies have gotten a lot wiser about giving out information..but they still do. Some carriers though on company policy just wont give this info out to anyone except law enforcement. 2. You can track the phone via various location-based services (LBS). They do all the work for you. All you have to do is get the cell phone in question to added to your group..(this is tough) This is very accurate. Some of these services are cheap some for free... But each service has a way of adding phones with the other persons permission.. let me say that again.. each service has a way of adding phones with the other persons permission... So with the other persons permission is the question??? How do you get it if they dont give it??? There are ways.. Are you going to figure out how to clone their phone???(people do this..people go to jail too) Can you figure out how to get them on without cloning?? Are you going to take the time to figure out even what kinda phone they have?? Long story short.. no one will do it... If they do they probably work for a phone company and will charge you a grip.. Is this even worth a repo fee?? What you want now is like a unicorn.. They arent around anymore.. Either is this service. You have a good cell phone number. This is awesome. This is way better info than what a lot of peeps get in repo or skip world have Use it. Use that number to the fullest. You can get info(including records) from that number, but pings are way too much hastle and no one does them. Do you guys use a trap? Do you have scripts that you can run on the borrower? See if you can get the person to pick that number up. (not as the repo dude) If you talk to the person you can find em. All you need is that person to pick up there phone once and within 3o seconds you should be able to put them together. It can take forever to get them to pick up.. and maybe they never will.. You may have to call from 20 different local numbers(you can disguise your number easily and cost effective) I am sorry if i come across like this is the easiest thing in the world i know its not, but this is way easier than the stuff i mentioned in steps one and two. If you talk to the subject for any length of time you should be able to figure out where they are, without them knowing it.
